About John Pennington

John Pennington is a Washington County extension agent for the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture and is in his rookie year as a board member of the Arkansas Earth Day Foundation. John is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University where he received a B.S. in Biology and served as president of the Campus Environmental Coalition and Student Government Association. His later efforts have involved receiving a M.S. of Science from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and heading up the annual Keep Arkansas Beautiful: Lee Creek Cleanup. John is also a committee member of the annual West Fork Cleanup and Celebration, Illinois River Watershed Partnership Education Committee, and Farm Friends Event. He is an active member of the Arkansas Canoe Club, Ozark Society, Ozark Highlands Trail Association, and Illinois River Watershed Partnership. He is an active educator and enjoys outreach efforts of most any kind, but especially those that add value to people’s lives or involve the maintenance and improvement of the many natural resources of Arkansas.
